Titanic Fact 6: The Life boat Drill

On April 14th, the Titanic had a lifeboat drill scheduled. For some unknown reason, Captain Smith canceled the drill. Later that night, Titanic hit an iceberg. Many of the officers didn't know the weight limit of the lifeboats. This resulted in many lifeboats being only half full when they were launched. If the lifeboat drill had occurred, then maybe there wouldn't have been as much confusion. Its estimated 400 additional people would have survived the sinking had the lifeboats been full.
